R.I.P Edward Woodard 1930 - 2009

From his well loved 1984 television series The Equalizer to his recent performances in Hot Fuzz and Eastenders. Woodward was considered a professional to the very end. I wish his family well.

To me he will always be immortalized as stern, repressed Sergeant Howie in the brilliant 1973 the Wicker Man. Mr Woodard, I salute you.

RIP: John Hughes: 1950 - 2009

Voice of a generation

So many words have been spoken so I'm merely adding to the mass. People have been talking
about the man over the weekend and the words have been so tender and sweet that anything I would say would pale in comparison. The best thing I can do is show my favorite Hughes scene:

Two words: Unbridled Joy

26 June 2009 - A Day of Death

In a very bizarre day I discovered very late today that my Uncle's wife had past away in the U.S.

And with this I say my thoughts are with you Uncle.

Also today that Micheal Jackson and Farrah Fawcett have also passed on.

I'm not going to say too much about these people which have been said already. There is no point.

I will say however these people were true iconic creatures who brought happiness to those who followed them. From the infamous Farrah poster to The "king of pop" breaking the MTV Race barrier.

SAW 5

I recently visited the IMDB messages boards for no other reason other than madness and my eyes fell upon what many people see when they go to such a place....ridiculous arguments. I love a good message board, but one where posters value other peoples opinions and can engage in intelligent debate. There is none of this there.

Went to the SAW 5 board, read this topic, died a little inside and then found this at arrow in the head:

Sorry Saw fans, while at first the series was fresh and inventive......It looks quite clearly that everyone involved is flogging a dead horse.

If your don't with horror by the way, do visit arrow in the head, his reviews are no bullshit and his writing style quite humorous.

R.I.P Charlton Heston

Sympathies go out to the family of Charlton Heston. The star of movies such as Ed Cid and Ben Hur. Not the biggest fan of many of his movies (Can't stand soylent green or The omega man for sure), nor of his political views but he was a man that truly shaped the landscape of cinema as we know it.

His face, presence and talent have lead to many iconic moments in film and he will be greatly remembered.

R.I.P Roy Scheider

Thoughts go out to the estate of Roy Scheider, who has past away from Cancer earlier this week.

To ignorant fools this man was the lead in Jaws. So even through this is a short obituary you should pay respects to a good man.

I know it's not a scene from Jaws but i loved him in this.

His later films my not have had the quality of his films of the 70's but Scheider was a consistant and solid preformer in everything he did.

R.I.P Brad Renfro

I'm not going to make a big gushing obituary about this actor as I had only seen him in a few films. However, a moments silence for Brad Renfro who died on Tuesday, aged 25.

While not what you could say a big name a-list young actor. The man had good screen presence was a solid preformer in the roles he picked.

My thoughts go out to those he's left behind
